With GOB, a clear, protective resin (the “glue”) is poured over the surface of the LED board and cured. This seals the SMD pixels under a transparent layer.

• Better protection against impact and accidental knocks.

• Extra resistance to dust and moisture.

• Smoother surface that’s easier to clean.

GOB is popular for environments where people might touch the screen, where equipment moves close to it, or where you want extra peace of mind without fully changing technology.


COB (Chip on Board)

COB is a more integrated approach. Instead of placing pre‑packaged SMD LEDs on the board, COB mounts many tiny LED chips directly onto the board and then seals them under a protective layer.

The result is a single, continuous surface of light with no exposed components.

• Very high durability: the surface is sealed and impact‑resistant.

• Often better black levels and contrast in certain designs.

• Smooth feel: no visible individual LED packages up close.

COB is especially attractive for fine‑pitch displays where viewers are very close to the screen and you want both protection and a premium visual feel.

• Fine‑pitch indoor LED in premium spaces.

• Environments where people can get very close to the wall.

• Projects that prioritise robustness and a clean, seamless look.
